Winter tartines with Chevrot Sèvre & Belle cheese: apples, walnuts, honey and caramelized onions

Ingredients

 

  • 1 puff pastry

 

 

  • 2 large yellow onions

 

 

 

 

  • 40g of crushed walnuts

 

 

  • 1 tablespoon of butter

 

 

  • 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar ou of honey

 

Prepare in advance

Prepare the onions

Thinly slice the onions and sauté them over low heat in a pan with a little butter and a pinch of salt. Cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring regularly, until you have a golden caramel. Add the balsamic vinegar or honey.

Cut the dough

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Unroll the puff pastry and cut it into heart (or circle) shapes.

Top the toasts

Place in the center: 1 tablespoon of onion compote, a nice piece of Chévrot Sèvre & Belle cheese, and some crushed walnuts.

Bake

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the pastries are golden brown and puffed up.
